Docks & Boat Lifts for Prince Edward County and the Bay of Quinte

Bays, open lake and inland ponds: the County has every kind of shoreline.

In Prince Edward County, the water is never far away. Some shorelines face the long, sheltered reaches of the Bay of Quinte, some the open Lake Ontario shore, and some inland lakes like West Lake and East Lake. Each asks something different of a dock, and many County lots have very little room on land to store one for winter.

Three Kinds of County Water

Bays and reaches

Picton Bay, Adolphus Reach and the Bay of Quinte offer shelter, but they still rise and fall with Lake Ontario, and some see moving water and seasonal ice. A tower lift dock lifts its frame clear of the water before winter, which matters when there is nowhere on shore to put it.

The open Lake Ontario shore

Here the dock meets wind, waves and the lake's regulated but unpredictable levels. Record highs in 2017 and 2019 did serious shoreline damage across Lake Ontario. A floating dock stays above the water in those years instead of disappearing beneath it.

Inland lakes

West Lake and East Lake are usually calmer than the open lake, and made for swimming and paddling. A dock with room for chairs, a swim ladder and a place for paddleboards and kayaks, kitted out from our dock accessories, often does the trick.

A Picton Bay Story

One County owner had been through two docks already. Her stretch of Picton Bay moves quickly, freezes and thaws every year, and has no shoreline space for winter storage. The first dock did not last, and the second fell short of what was promised.

Michel made the trip to the County to see the site for himself, then invited her to watch one of our installs so she could judge the quality and the ease of setup firsthand. Her new dock was built to her water level, length and width, finished with a kayak stand, and is easy enough for her to put in and take out on her own.

"I was incredibly impressed with the professionalism and care that was shown to me."

County Question

I have no room on shore to store a dock. What are my options?

Look at systems that lift out of the water in place, like a tower lift dock, or a removable dock sized to what your property can hold. We will design around the space you actually have.
